With the holidays finished off and the ski season in full swing (weather permitting) work is moving ahead!
Should have all the painting done by Jan. 16th
Hardwood floor came to a screeching halt when I got to the fireplace and realized I needed to design the hearth!
I shopped marble and granite and my pockets weren't deep enough for my tastes! Finally I chose a finished "Indian Slate" that comes in uniform 12" x 12" squares with a slightly beveled edge. When I went to pick it up they were sold out. I was told it was on order and was expected Dec. 23. It still hasn't arrived. (Jan. 12) They have some natural Indian Slate that I can get "as is", which I am looking at right now. The thickness of each piece differs and it has been exposed to the weather so the color is not consistent and it is quite brittle and flakes apart easily. I was given 3 pieces as samples and have them inside drying out and will make a decision on whether or not to use them after seeing how they turn out!
